I was talking to an editor a while back, and they suggested I enter Spark in a few contests. I gave it a shot and entered Spark into the Literary Titan contest.

It won.
Now I have some cool stickers to put on the cover and can brag that I am “an award-winning author.”
Progress on Embers, the final (Probably. Maybe.) book in the series. The thing is, I have a few other stories in my head that keep me awake at night. I need to get them written so they’ll let me sleep.
I finished Embers a month ago and sent it off to the editor and a few beta readers. Thank you, Cindy, Ardith, and Remo. Feedback has mostly been about what I expected. The ending, as it stands, is controversial among the readers and may be rewritten. I need to ponder that.
Meanwhile, I’m waiting for one last piece of input before I start the final edits. In a month or so, it will probably go back to the editor and then on to layout and cover design. You may see it on the shelf by the end of summer, along with another book I’ve been working on.
It’s called Drunk Every Sunday, and it’s a completely different genre. I’ll share more about that when it comes out of editing/beta reading.
The next SF novel will be more adult-oriented. No, not the smut some of you have been hoping for. The characters will be older and have a more mature outlook on life. I’m looking forward to writing it and hope you’ll enjoy it.
