I like Hunter and named him after a guy I know. Hunter 319 is a nerd’s nerd. Even in the Pod, his nerdiness stands out. Before he was orphaned by Omicron Death, he lived with his parents and had schematics of the Millennium Falcon on the walls of his bedroom. He not only knows the eleven colors of light sabers, but he can also tell you the type of kyber crystals that power them. He knows so much of the Star Wars canon, that he set up an Insta account to arbitrate disputes between SW aficionados.

Hunter reminds me of Anthony Michael Hall in Weird Science

Even though Hunter is loved and accepted by the Pod, few of them want to quest with him. He plays as a Lawful Good Paladin, and his rigorous code makes him a bit of a pain in the butt at times. He is stressed by the guilt he feels over sneaking into the Underground City every night. His weapon of choice is a green light saber. Like Yoda, he is.

Hunter is a little guy who plays big.

He doesn’t get very many lines in SPARK and has not made an appearance in Fire. Rumor has it that he got caught up in one of the rolling riots in SCAZ and did not survive.

I am convinced Mellew is named after a character from a game I played or a book I read. Which game? Which book? I have no idea. Originally, I thought it was a name from Lord of the Flies. I even told someone at Comicpalooza that’s where I got the name. Nope. Not true. Sorry. The origin of the name is now shrouded in mystery.

Mellew is now and forevermore the name of a character in SPARK.

A younger Hilary Duff could play Mellew in the SPARK movie

Will quickly falls for Mellew when he meets her. She’s that kind of girl: cute, funny, and as loving and easy to love as a Labrador Retriever. Mellew lived with her mom and stepdad until the stepdad crossed a line. Mom had to make a choice as to who she believed, and she chose her latest husband. Mellew could have gone to live with her dad, but can’t stand her stepmom and the feeling is reciprocated.

Life on the rode turned out to be less than she’d hoped for and more than she could deal with. The Pod nursed her back to mental health. She told Feral once that she’s heading to Hollywood “eventually” to become an actress.

Mellew identifies with Diana Bishop in Discovery of Witches

Mellew plays as a witch and is not above hexing her own teammates if they’re being jerks.
