Aside from hurricanes and tornadoes, one of the things that can generate 1.21 gigawatts of enthusiasm in Texas is ComicPalooza.
This year there are more celebrities than ever, a bigger cosplay crowd, and a pretty cool NASA/STEM tie-in. With the tornado in the past and most of the lights being back on, I can finally share some information with you.
I’ve been a Michael J. Fox fan since Family Ties, and a Chris Lloyd fan since Taxi; both were phenomenal in the Back To The Future series. This year they’ll both be at CP on Saturday and Sunday. Sure, they’ll do the standard photo op and autograph sessions, but an unnamed source tells me that they are both big fans of the Spark Chronicles and may swing by the booth on Sunday. Mike likely wishes he were still young enough to star as Will Kwan in the movie version. We’ll see.
Speaking of time, and time travel, imagine my surprise when I slapped on my watch yesterday and the face fell out. I’ve never heard of such a thing, but it’s one of the problems Apple mentions on their site. Know what’s bad for rubber, seals, and electronics in general? Bug spray and sunscreen. Who knew? My earbuds have been dissolving and now my watch has a loose face.
Lesson learned? Apply both bug spray and sunscreen BEFORE donning your personal electronics.
Expect big news tomorrow regarding both the audiobook and the release of Ash, the final volume in the Spark Chronicles. (I know, right? Where’s Feral? Fear not, dear reader, you’ll be able to find out soon.)
