No. That’s not a typo.
A while back, my daughter gave me these socks. In the past couple of years, I’ve grown fond of wilder, more expressive socks. I’m also a Trekkie.
Spock socks. What’s not to love?
At first, I only wore these on weekends. The ears, you know. They stick out and when I cross my legs in a meeting, suddenly everyone is off topic and on Spock’s ears and my socks. Depending on the group, this can devolve into a discussion of Vulcan/Romulan physiology and why Vulcans chose the path of logic and Romulans chose the path of war or curiosity about what can I possibly be thinking, wearing socks like this in a business setting. But I digress.
Now they give people something interesting to look at in the background of our WebEx calls.
You’re welcome.
As great as Leonard Nimoy was as Spock and as an actor in general, he was an even better director/producer. He directed Three Men and a Baby, Star Trek III and IV and produced Star Trek IV and VI. He also covertly introduced a hand gesture from his faith into Star Trek canon and gave us a social-distancing friendly greeting.
Live long and prosper!
